I recently watched the documentary “Sacred Cow”. It’s not specifically about cows, it looks at how we treat and raise the animals that we consume for food and the impacts and effects that this has on our health and on the environment.
I have followed Diana Rodgers and Rob Wolf’s work for a very long time, and they have written a very detailed book on the subject too. I will be sharing some more thoughts in a future newsletter. They explain very well, together with farmers, scientists, doctors and researchers, that of course for whatever we eat, something or someone needs to lose their life. Yes, that may be hard to say and believe, although we should also understand that this is the way that nature works. If we stay in our natural life cycle with respect all other lives then we can replenish our planet and our health.
This movie is really not about veganism, nor is it about eating mostly animal foods. It’s more about how we eat, how we nourish our body, and while doing so how our food chooses can affect our health and the environment. I highly recommended that you check out the movie, and if you’d like to learn more then read the book as well. Whatever your diet choices, you will certainly still find something to learn and/or question.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. And, as always, I would love to hear your feedback.
I can not tell anyone what they should eat, however I can sometimes suggest what food sources might be more beneficial for their health. Of course, each individual needs to experience it with their own body as we all have our individual differences. Eating healthy food starts with our choices…
